Ken Meier has been working in this field since 1976, and Steve Crosby, since 1982. The two met while working for another family owned septic company. After the owner and founder of the company passed-away, the company changed hands. This is when Meier and Crosby decided to begin their own organization. Creating Septic Specialists and Excavating, Inc. Meier's brother-in-law, Bob Acker, who was working in the construction industry, was looking for a change of career and joined the two in their business opportunity.
Originally their company dealt with about 70% residential replacement and 30% new construction. These numbers continue to change and today are about 60% and 40%. The company is still owned and operated by Steve Crosby and Ken Meier. Bob Acker has since passed away.
